DEHRADUN, 11 Jul: Governor Lt Gen (Retd) Gurmit Singh and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami have expressed grief over the demise of Sriprakash Bajpai, father of Amar Ujala’s local editor and senior journalist Anoop Bajpai. Singh also expressed deep sorrow at the passing away of Anoop Bajpai’s father, describing the news as extremely painful. He prayed that the departed soul may find place at the divine feet and wished strength and courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
The Chief Minister has also prayed to the Almighty for peace to the departed soul and conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. Director General Information Banshidhar Tiwari has also expressed sorrow on the passing away of Anoop Bajpai’s father and extended his sympathies to the family.
It may be recalled that Anoop Bajpai’s father Prakash Bajpai passed away in Lucknow and was a well respected theatre personality. He had carved a distinct identity in the world of theatre and cinema through his long and active association. Bajpai was deeply attached to the theatre and is reported to have acted. in more than 45 films. Sriprakash Bajpai began his journey in theatre during his school years and later formed his own group ‘Natya Bharati’, staging numerous plays. He was an A-grade artist of All India Radio and an approved artist of Doordarshan Lucknow.
