Gov directs Municipal Commissioner to undertake dengue control measures



DEHRADUN, 19 Sep: Governor Baby Rani Maurya directed the Commissioner, Dehradun Municipal Corporation, today, to make serious efforts on maintaining cleanliness in the capital. Governor Maurya obtained detailed information from him on the steps taken by the Municipal Corporation to prevent the spread of dengue in the city. The Governor asked the Commissioner to ensure regular fogging in the wards in a planned way. She asked that specials teams be constituted for completion of fogging in an entire ward in a single day. She also stressed on the clearing of drains in the city. She ordered that disposal of garbage be done on a priority basis so that seasonal diseases could be prevented. Regular inspection of meat shops had to be undertaken to ensure cleanliness. Municipal Commissioner Vinay Shanker Pandey apprised the Governor that the Corporation had 110 portable fogging machines and 300 spray machines available at present. One fogging machine and three spray machines have been made available for every ward. Eight big fogging machines attached to 4 vehicles were being used for regular fogging ward-wise. Fogging and spraying was being done on priority basis on receiving complaints. The phone number-0135-2652571 could be called to make dengue related complaints with the Municipal Corporation.
