Dehradun, 27 Apr: Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd) on Thursday launched the ‘Chardham Sathi’ mobile application of Swami Vivekananda Health Mission Society from Raj Bhavan. The purpose of this mobile app is to provide information about the health needs of the pilgrims during the Char Dham Yatra. Through this mobile app, passengers will be able to get information about the nearest Vivekananda Health Mission hospital, services available there, emergency number, etc. These services will be provided free of cost at Chardham Yatra places by Vivekananda Health Mission. This mobile app is available on Play Store.
Appreciating the service and dedication of Swami Vivekananda Health Mission Society, the Governor said that the efforts being made by them are commendable. He said that this mobile app will prove to be very useful for the health facilities of the pilgrims coming to Chardham. He appreciated this initiative and said that the society has established its own hospitals at 11 places in Uttarakhand, which shows the service of Vivekananda Health Mission. He said that he himself has visited the hospital located at Shri Badrinath ji. So far the Health Mission Society has provided free health services to lakhs of patients, which is commendable in itself.
On this occasion, Dr Anuj Singhal, Secretary, Swami Vivekananda Health Mission Society, told that while fulfilling its resolve to provide health facilities to the pilgrims in Chardhams, ICU-equipped hospitals have been set up at Badrinath Dham, Kedarnath Dham and Gangotri Dham. In these, the facilities of lab, digital X-ray facilities and pharmacy, etc., are being provided completely free of cost. He said that more than 60 cardiologists from all over the country have given consent to voluntarily render their services in Chardham Yatra hospitals. He told that the work of 50-bed hospital in Kedarnath Dham is in progress.
On this occasion, Director of Health Mission Society, Lt-Colonel (Dr) Praveen Kumar Reddy, Dr Tara Shree Singhal, Dr Sanjay Shah were present.
