Dehradun, 6 Dec: Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd) has paid tribute to the martyrs on the eve of ‘Indian Armed Forces Flag Day’. The Governor extended heartfelt wishes to all soldiers, ex-service personnel, families of soldiers, and the people of the state and the country on the occasion of ‘Indian Armed Forces Flag Day’.
In his message issued on the eve of ‘Indian Armed Forces Flag Day’, the Governor stated that this day reminds people of the valour of the armed forces. He emphasised that brave soldiers are the greatest asset of any nation. This day serves to honour their contributions and inspire all towards sacrifice and dedication to the service and defence of the country. The brave soldiers are always ready to serve the nation.
The Governor further added that it is due to their sacrifice, dedication, and valour that the country remains secure and united. Since 1949, the nation has been observing ‘Indian Armed Forces Flag Day’. This day is dedicated to honouring the armed forces, navy, and air force personnel, and it inspires every citizen to contribute towards the welfare of Indian armed forces personnel.
The Governor appealed to the people of the state to contribute to the cause on the occasion of ‘Indian Armed Forces Flag Day’. He said that even a small contribution would help the families of the martyrs and injured soldiers feel that people stand with them, sharing their joys and sorrows.
