Dehradun, 6 Dec: BJP state media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan today stated that every member of the BJP government’s cabinet is accessible, unlike the Congress. He criticised the dharna staged by Congress MLA and former president Pritam Singh outside the residence of Health Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat, calling it improper and a political stunt.
Chauhan insisted that all the ministers in the BJP Government have been conducting regular public hearings, rising above party lines, which is rare to see under the Congress governments. He noted that the Health Minister is currently on a field visit and is not ignoring the demands of opposition members. Chauhan claimed that remarkable work is being done in the fields of education and health in the state, and any necessary discussions with the minister can be arranged in due time.
He pointed out that Congress leader Pritam Singh, a senior MLA with long past experience as a cabinet minister, is engaging in pressure politics by staging a dharna at the minister’s residence. Chauhan stressed that problems can be solved through dialogue, not protests, and suggested that Singh’s actions are an attempt to appease his supporters in his area.
Chauhan also pointed out that CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has held several meetings with opposition MLAs to ensure balanced development works. He accused Congress of resorting to such political stunts to divert public attention from internal party turmoil and to appear aggressive ahead of the upcoming civic and panchayat elections. He claimed that Congress has been avoiding actual issues of public concern and creating disruptions in assembly sessions.
He also claimed that the public is aware of Congress tactics and will not trust them. The solution to problems lies in dialogue, not political stunts.
