DEHRADUN, 29 Nov: Governor Lt-General Gurmit Singh (Retd) released the book, “Along came a Warrior: Banda’s Dharamyudh and the Sikh Theory of Just War” at the Raj Bhavan, here, on Tuesday. The book has been jointly authored by former IMA Commandant Lt-General RS Sujlana (Retd) and Dr Rupinder S Brar.
On the occasion of the book release, the Governor said, “It is a matter of pride that this book preserves the special references to our history. It describes the teachings of our Sikh Gurus who shaped our ideals and Sikh tradition.”
He said that people get to see the life philosophy of the Gurus, their spiritual consciousness and their ideal characters with the great aim of establishing peace in the nation and society.
Lt-General Singh said that this book reflects extensive research, for which he appreciated the authors. He said that, through this book the social scientific concept of the great sacrifices of the Gurus has also been brought to the fore.
On this occasion, the authors Lt-General Sujlana and Dr Rupinder S Brar described the concept and content of the book.
Present on the occasion of the book release, were President, ONA, Brigadier HPS Bedi and many other dignitaries.
