Gov reviews ‘next wave’ preparedness


Dehradun, 29 Jul: Governor Baby Rani Maurya today directe the DG Health to start operation of Red Cross Hospitals in the state considering the possibility of a third wave of COVID-19. She said doctors, nurses and paramedical staff should be made available to these hospitals. She also obtained details about the preparedness for the possibility of a third wave of COVID-19.
DG, Health, Dr Tripti Bahuguna informed her that 28,112 isolation beds without oxygen support, 6,572 isolation beds with oxygen support, 1655 ICU beds, 1014 ventilators, 24 oxygen generation plants, 15,803 oxygen cylinders, 5600 oxygen concentrators, 2351 medical officers, 11 RTPCR testing labs, 64 True NAT machines and 459 ambulances are available in the state to meet the contingency. The state has 1945 pediatric oxygen beds and 739 NICU/PICU beds earmarked for child COVID cases. Essential medicines would be made available to the community health centres, primary health centres, sub-centres by 10 August.
