Tilu Rauteli award given to 13 women, 32 Aanganwadi workers also honoured

Dehradun, 8 Aug: Every year, the Uttarakhand government honours women doing excellent work in various fields with the Tilu Rauteli Award. Highly venerable warrior Tilu Rauteli was born on 8 August. In her memory, every year women and adolescents doing excellent work are honoured with the Tilu Rauteli Award district wise.

At a special function, 13 women selected for the year 2023-24 were honoured with the Tilu Rauteli Award. Along with this, 32 Anganwadi workers doing better work in their respective fields were also honoured on the birth anniversary of Tilu Rauteli. “Rajya Stree Shakti Tilu Rauteli and Anganwadi Worker Awards” (2023-24) were distributed in the auditorium of the Culture Department. Women Empowerment and Child Development Minister Rekha Arya was the chief guest on the occasion. Tree plantation was also done in the auditorium on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Rekha Arya congratulated all the selected women. She said that this award shows that the women of the state are doing excellent work in various fields. She observed that those honoured today will work with more dedication in their respective fields, others will also do excellent work in their fields by taking inspiration from them.

Arya reminded that this award is given in the field of sports, art, culture, environment and for social service, etc. She said that in the coming time, along with Anganwadi workers, the public will also be able to use the Poshan Tracker App in rural areas.

A short film based on the life of Tilu Rauteli was also screened. Arya said that the women who received the award are ideal examples for the women of Uttarakhand as well as the country. She claimed that the Uttarakhand government is committed to encouraging women power. In the coming time, women players of Uttarakhand will set new records at the national and international level. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the state government is making efforts to empower women.

For the State Level Aanganwadi Worker Award, Aanganwadi workers / Mini Aanganwadi workers working continuously for at least 5 years in the state at whose centre at least 8 children of 3 to 6 years are registered in rural areas and at least 18 children in urban areas are eligible. All the beneficiaries are registered in the Poshan Tracker App. Operation of Aanganwadi centres, proper maintenance of records in centres, regular distribution of supplementary nutrition and making the public aware of the schemes, special efforts to eradicate malnutrition and regular organisation of Rural Health, Sanitation and Nutrition Day in the year, special attention to cleanliness of Aanganwadi centre and around the centre, with the aim of better results in their functioning and increasing the spirit of competition, in this award, the worker is given an amount of Rs 51,000, a certificate and a memento.

During this programme, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also congratulated all the Tilu Rauteli award winners and award winning Aanganwadi workers through a virtual message and wished them a bright future. He expressed hope that the girls and women of the state will follow the ideals of the award winners and help in taking Uttarakhand to new heights. He said that the women of the state should dream big and try to make them come true, the state government is with them.

Raipur MLA Umesh Sharma Kau, Vice President of Uttarakhand Culture, Literature and Arts Council Madhu Bhatt, Director Prashant Arya, Padma Shri awardee Madhuri Barthwal, Deputy Director Vikram Singh, Mohit Chaudhary, along with officers, employees, all women and Aanganwadi sisters were present at the programme.
