DEHRADUN, 29 Nov: Students of Graphic Era Deemed University have secured fourth position in the country by making an electric car. Graphic Era’s team at Shell Eco Marathon India received Rs 2.5 lakh as prize money at the national level. At the Shell Eco Marathon India-2019 held in Bangalore, Graphic Era’s team E-Square won the Circular Economy Award for the Off-Track event by creating an electric prototype car. The award was given for a single-seater racing car running at 108 kilometres per kilowatt power. Under the leadership of mechanical engineering faculty Gagan Bansal, Team E-Square participated in the competition. The team at Graphic Era competed with their car in a petrol prototype car bout. The university team entered the competition for the first time with an electric eco- cart. This team secured 4th position. Graphic Era management provided more than Rs 3 lakh assistance to the team for preparing this car. BTech mechanical engineering final year students Madhur Saxena and Satyam Negi (team manager) along with Shivanshu Gaur, Udit, Ritij, Nishant, Prakhar, Sachin, Abhinav Devrani, Abhishek, Akshant, Rohan, Pranav Joshi, Priyanshu, Animesh, Vaibhav Bisht, Akshat, Vaibhav Nainwal, Anjas, Ujjwal, Akansha, Anamika and Riya were the members of the team. Prof (Dr) Kamal Ghansala, Graphic Era Group, congratulated the team and said the university is providing world class laboratories and facilities and these should be used extensively for innovation and research.
