Graphic Era celebrates 550th Prakash Parva

DEHRADUN, 11 Nov: Graphic Era Deemed University celebrated the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev as “Prakash Parva” with great enthusiasm and reverence, here, today. The entire Graphic Era University was decorated with flowers to celebrate this occasion. In accordance with tradition, the premises of the university were cleaned with “Ganga Jal” and flowers were offered before the Guru Granth Sahib this morning. The programme began with the sacred slogan of “Jo bole so nihal, Sat Shri Akal”. Simran Jeet Kaur, a student of BBA, recited the Japji Sahab Paath and explained its meaning in English, also. The Shabad Kirtan by Ragi Kuldeep Singh and his team enchanted all the people present at the ceremony. The most unique and notable act by the students was that they, themselves, prepared the food for Langar with great respect and veneration for the holy Guru. The Vice Chancellor of Graphic Era Deemed University, Dr Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Pro VC Dr HN Nagraja, Vice Chancellor of Graphic Era Hill University, Dr Sanjay Jasola and other guests and students were present on the occasion.
