Dehradun, 29 Sep: Hundreds of people walked while carrying the message on heart’s safety alongside Graphic Era representatives, today. In this ‘Walk for Heart’, cardiologists along with doctors, professors, officials and teachers of Graphic Era participated.
On World Heart Day, Walk for Heart was organised this morning starting from the Parade Ground. Participants walked along Astley Hall, Rajpur Road, Eucalyptus Road and Survey Chowk before returning to the Parade Ground. During this, people were made aware about heart health.
Director of Graphic Era Hospital’s Cardiology Department Dr Akhilesh Pandey emphasised on staying happy and walking daily for good health of the heart. He said that smiling and staying cheerful can help us avoid stress. When one stays happy, the heart also stays happy. HoD of Cardiology Department Dr Raj Pratap Singh said that yoga and physical activities are important for a healthy heart.
On this occasion, Medical Director of Graphic Era Hospital Dr Punit Tyagi highlighted the importance of avoiding smoking for maintaining the health of heart and lungs
Vice Chancellor of Graphic Era Deemed University Dr Narpinder Singh, Vice Chancellor of Graphic Era Hill University Dr Sanjay Jasola, Medical Superintendent of Graphic Era Medical Hospital Dr Amit Varma, Dr Girish Gupta, Dr Anupam Agrawal, Cardiology Department’s Dr Himanshu Rana, Dr Pulkit, Dr SP Singh, DGM, Operations, Neha Gupta, other officials and employees also participated.
In this walkathon of around three kilometres, social workers of Civil Defence, Dehradun, and people connected with other organisations also participated. A special zumba and warmup session was also organized. All the participants were also provided Walk for Heart theme-based t-shirts and certificates.
