Dehradun, 10 Apr: The youth at Graphic Era Hill University took an oath to vote responsibly and spread awareness among the people about voting.
At the request of the Directorate of Higher Education, a voter oath ceremony was organised at Graphic Era. Students, teachers and employees eligible to vote in the Lok Sabha elections 2024 were made aware of their rights. Teachers and students were informed about the importance of exercising their voting rights and a collective oath was taken in the classes. Thousands of students took the oath in the university campus.
Also, to raise awareness about voting among people, the Civil Defence organisation and Graphic Era will jointly organise a bike rally on 13 April. Faculty members, doctors, students, and wardens will participate in this massive rally.
Chief Electoral Officer of Uttarakhand, Dr BVRC Purushottam will inaugurate this rally at 10 a.m. from Graphic Era Deemed University. Chief Warden of Civil Defence and Chairman of Graphic Era Group of Institutions, Dr Kamal Ghanshala will lead the rally. The bike rally will pass through Post Office Road, Transport Nagar, Ballupur, Garhi Cantt, Raj Bhavan Marg, Dilaram Chowk, Behl Intersection, EC Road, and Survey Chowk, culminating at the Parade Ground.
Chief Warden Dr Ghanshala said that through the rally, people will be made aware of the importance of democratic rights of voting and encouraged to exercise them.
