Dehradun, 4 Jan: A batch of 24 Hamdard University Pharmacy students paid an academic visit to Himalaya Wellness Company, Dehradun. They were accompanied by the faculty members, Dr Aisha Siddiqui and Dr SS Chaudhary.
During the visit they were shown a documentary on the company, the Museum, manufacturing operations, processing and storage of medicinal plants in the company. This provided exposure and practical knowledge of herbal medicine and eco-development.
Company President Dr S Farooq said, “We follow all the good manufacturing practices and keep strict watch on the quality of our products. Himalaya is one of the foremost export companies of herbal medicines.” He also advised the students to innovate and do research in this field which is needed in the country.
Dr Ayesha Siddiqui thanked Dr S Farooq for sharing his valuable time and giving students the opportunity to see practically the processing of medicinal plants and their uses.
