As per the election schedule, nomination papers can be filed on September 18 and 19 from 11 am to 4 pm. On September 20, the nomination papers will be scrutinised from 11 am to 2 pm. Candidates can withdraw their nominations between 11 am and 2 pm on September 21. The final list of candidates will be released on the same day, i.e. on September 21 at 4:30 pm.
Polling for the student union elections will be held on 27 September from 8 am to 2 pm. The counting of votes will take place on the same day, i.e.  September 27, and the results of the student union elections will be released late in the evening. The oath-taking ceremony for the newly elected officials will be held on September 28 at 11 am. Chief Election Officer Professor HC Nainwal said that the university has made all preparations to conduct the student union elections. Teams have been formed for this purpose. He said that the elections would be conducted peacefully, just like before.
It is worth noting that the Congress student wing, National Student Union of India (NSUI), had been demanding student union elections for a long time. The NSUI had also held protests across the state demanding that the student union elections be held as soon as possible. Now that the student union elections have been announced, all the student leaders have started their preparations. It is noteworthy that in 2024, the absence of student union elections had caused a lot of disappointment among the students. However, now the students who wish to make a career in politics are quite excited about the announcement of the student union elections.
It is also worth reminding here that student union elections will also be held on September 27 at the Almora campus of Soban Singh Jeena University.
