CM reviews preparations for Global Investors’ Summit

Dehradun, 17 Aug: Uttarakhand will be organising a Global Investors’ Summit in December in order to attract capital, and corporate houses to set up units here. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is determined to ensure greater investment in the state so that employment of the local youth can be assured.
A meeting of the State Government’s advisory group was held today to prepare the outline for the Summit, which was chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. In this meeting held at a private hotel here, today, along with the Chief Minister, members of his cabinet and top officials of the government, industrialists of the state participated in order to create a friendly environment for investment in Uttarakhand. Dhami, while addressing the media after the meeting of the State Government Advisory Group, said that the Global Investors’ Summit is proposed in the month of December. He asserted that, this time, the State Government aims to get double the investment than during the Investors’ Summit held in 2018. According to him, this time, along with MoUs worth Rs 2.5 lakh crores, a target has been set for investment in sectors like hydro, tourism, education and solar energy. Road shows will also be organised to bring in investment from other states and countries.
Cabinet Ministers Subodh Uniyal and Saurabh Bahuguna said that a target of Rs 50,000 crores has been set by the state government for this investors’ summit. They said that the state government is constantly trying to increase investment. Road shows will be organised in different cities of the country under the Investors’ Summit. Major programmes will be organised to invite investors from abroad, also, so that the state government can achieve its set target.
In this meeting of the State Government Advisory Group, Patanjali Yogpeeth General Secretary Acharya Balakrishna said that the state government is constantly trying to woo investors and it is expected that the way Dhami’s government is moving forward, it will do well in this regard.
The dates of the Global Investors’ Summit have been fixed for the first week of coming December. It is hoped that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate this Summit and it will prove to be a milestone in the development of the state.
