India’s High Commissioners to Uganda & Brunei call on Gov UK

Dehradun, 20 Dec: India’s High Commissioner to Brunei, Alok Amitabh Dimri and India’s High Commissioner to Uganda, Upendra Singh Rawat paid a courtesy call on Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd) at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday. On this occasion, various topics including the recently concluded Global Investors’ Summit were discussed between the Governor and the High Commissioners. The Governor asked the High Commissioners to share the best practices of the universities of the countries where they are working with the universities of Uttarakhand. Also, educational tours should be organised for university students, especially girls, to gain experience in these countries.

Lt-General Singh said that women self-help is doing better work in Uttarakhand and tour programs can be scheduled in these countries to exchange their experiences.  He also requested cooperation of self-help groups in linking local products with global consumerism. The Governor said that Uttarakhand has unlimited possibilities in the fields of Yoga, Ayurveda, Marma, Medicine and spiritual tourism.  He expected cooperation in promoting Uttarakhand in these areas in the respective countries.

On this occasion, the High Commissioners shared their experiences and offered many suggestions.
