International Conference ‘ICAMEES – 2018’ to be held at UPES

DEHRADUN, 13 Dec: UPES is all set to welcome eminent experts from academia, industry and government bodies at the ‘International Conference on Advanced Materials, Energy & Environmental Sustainability: ICAMEES -2018” being held at its Bidholi Campus on 14-15 December. The event, organised jointly by the ‘Department of Chemistry’ & ‘Department of Physics’ of the School of Engineering (SoE), UPES, is being sponsored by SERB-India, CSIR-India & Namami Gange.
Briefing the media, Arun Dhand – Sr Director, Public Affairs, shared that the two-day long conference will provide the young researchers, faculty and students from global institutes an excellent opportunity to share their research work, to learn about the latest developments in the field of Advanced Materials, Energy & Environmental Sustainability and also interact with world class Scientists.
Sharing the details of the event, Dr Shailey Singhal – Professor & ‘Conference Convener’, revealed that the conference aims to overcome the challenges and respond to the opportunities on advanced materials, energy harvesting, energy storage, environmental sustainability, earth sciences, green technology, etc. “The Conference will witness a plethora of renowned scientists from around the world who shall share their research findings amongst over 450 global participants. We are honoured to have ‘Bharat Ratna’ awardee Prof CNR Rao as the Chief Patron, and Environmentalist & ‘Chipko Movement’ Leader Sunderlal Bahuguna, and Prof Rajendra Dobhal – Director General, UCOST, as the ‘Guests of Honour’ at the conference,” Dr Singhal disclosed.
Dr Piyush Dua, Associate Professor & ‘Conference Convener’, shared that the conference would be jointly inaugurated by Prof PV Kamat, Editor-in-Chief ACS Energy Letters; Prof Wolfgang H Binder, Research Director – Martin Luther University, Germany; Prof Rajeev Ahuja, Uppsala University, Sweden; Prof Katsuaki Suganuma , Osaka Univeristy, Japan; and Dr Nalin Singhal – CMD, Central Electronics Ltd, Sahibabad. They would also be present at the plenary talks, while Prof Maja Leitgeb, University of Maribor, Slovenia; Dr Philipp Michael, Scientist, Martin Luther University, Germany; and Prof Yves Leterrier, EPFL, Switzerland, shall deliver ‘Invited Talks’ at several sessions. He stated that ‘ICAMEES-2018’ would be an ideal platform for all International & National Scientists, Professors, Students and Professionals from Universities, Institutions & Companies.
