ITS officer-trainees interact with Gov

DEHRADUN, 5 Mar: Indian Telecommunications Service (ITS) trainee officers met Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd) at the Raj Bhawan here on Wednesday.

A total of 31 ITS trainee officers are on a three-day visit to Uttarakhand, during which they will tour Smart City projects to gain insights into their operational and technical aspects.

The Governor emphasised that the telecommunication sector is the backbone of Digital India and Atmanirbhar Bharat. He advised the officers to focus on technological innovation, cybersecurity, and digital inclusion.

Highlighting the significance of telecommunication infrastructure in national development, the Governor described the officers as pioneers of the digital revolution. He encouraged them to work towards ensuring communication services in rural and remote areas and urged them to prioritise cybersecurity and data privacy to maintain the safety and efficiency of digital services.

Lt Gen Singh stressed the nation-building role of the trainee officers and urged them to fulfil their duties with dedication and integrity. He encouraged them to extend their services to the most remote communities, striving to improve lives through better connectivity.

He also remarked that, in the Amrit Kaal, the responsibility of young officers has increased significantly. Their contributions will be instrumental in achieving the vision of a developed and self-reliant India.
