JUU to hold national convention of IJU in Doon in November

Dehradun, 9 Aug: More than a hundred journalists from 22 states of the country are expected to gather in Dehradun in November under the banner of the Indian Journalists’ Union. This national convention will be hosted by the Journalists Union of Uttarakhand (JUU) which is an affiliated union of IJU.

In this regard, a meeting of the state executive of Journalist Union of Uttarakhand was held here, today. Brainstorming was done on the pending problems of the journalists and a comprehensive strategy was also decided for hosting of the convention to be held in the month of November. In this meeting organised at Ujjwal Restaurant at the Parade Ground, IJU National Secretary and senior journalist Jai Singh Rawat called upon the participating members to start preparing for the convention.

State President of the Union, Umashankar Praveen Mehta and State General Secretary Girish Pant informed the members that preparations have already begun for the event. He said that a souvenir of the Union will be published soon in this connection.

He said that journalists from twenty-two states across the country will come to Dehradun and extensive discussions will be held on the problems of journalists. A core committee will also be formed in this regard in which everyone will be assigned responsibilities.

Apart from this, a souvenir of the Union will also be published in September. He said that the Union is constantly trying to resolve all the pending problems of the journalists. A delegation will soon meet the Chief Minister in this regard.

Nineteen members of the Union provided five thousand rupees each to the Union as a contribution for the souvenir. On this occasion, blood donor Shiromani Anil Verma gave ten thousand rupees for the souvenir. State Secretary of the Union Rajendra Verma from Doiwala also announced a donation of Rs 11,000 for the souvenir and assured further cooperation.

Journalists Virendra Dutt Gairola, Lalita Baluni, Zahid Ali, SP Uniyal, Dwijendra Bahuguna, Adhir Mukherjee, Satish Pundir, Girish Tiwari, Surendra Kothiyal, Javed Hussain, Hrithik Agarwal, Omkar Singh, Moolchand Shirshwal, Anil Verma, Kishan Singh Gusain, Devendra Chamoli, Kaleem Ahmed, Pritam Verma, Chaman Lal, Deepak Gupta, Beniram Uniyal, Mohammad Shah Nazar, Abhinav Nayak, Jyoti Bhatt Dhyani, Vijay Laxmi Tiwari, Raksha Sharma, etc., were present at the meeting.
