Dehradun, 25 Mar: On the auspicious occasion of Durga Ashtami during Chaitra Navratri, Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd), along with his family, today performed the ritual worship of young girls, symbolising the divine feminine at Lok Bhavan here with full religious rites.
On this occasion, the Governor said that the festival of Chaitra Navratri is not limited to fasting and rituals alone, but it is also a symbol of respect for women’s power and reverence towards young girls.
The Governor extended his best wishes to the people of the state and prayed for their happiness, prosperity, and good health on this sacred occasion.
