Dehradun, 9 Apr: The third edition of the Kasiga Interschool Chess Tournament concluded, today, at its campus, here. Twelve schools from Dehradun, Rishikesh, and Mussoorie, including the host school, participated in the event across four categories: U-12, U-14, U-16, and U-18. More than 100 league matches were played to determine the winners in each category.
In the U-12 category, Lakshita Chaudhary from Rishikesh Public School, Rishikesh, emerged as the champion, while Abir Singh Rana from St Joseph’s Academy secured the runner-up position. In the U-14 category, Amogh Pandey from Doon International School, City Campus, clinched the title, with Tanish Chaurasia finishing as the runner-up.
Shree Jay Negi from Doon International School, City Campus, Dehradun, triumphed in the U-16 category, while Justin Irom from Tula’s International School, Dehradun, claimed the runner-up title. In the U-18 category, Harsh Raghuveer from Doon International School was declared the winner. Doon International School, City Campus, lifted the Overall Trophy, while Tula’s International School, secured the runner-up position.
The Head of School, Dr Surendra Singh Rajput, and the Deputy Head of School congratulated all the participants and the Sports Department of the school for their outstanding efforts in making the Kasiga Interschool Chess Tournament a success. They also felicitated the winners of each category for their remarkable achievements.
