Dehradun, 28 Aug: Kasiga School hosted a Geeta Paath Competition, bringing together some of the finest schools in the region for an event filled with devotion, discipline, and profound cultural expression. The competition, which celebrates the timeless teachings of the Bhagavad Gita, saw enthusiastic participation from students across several schools.
The Chief Guest was Dr Anand Bhardwaj, Director of Sanskrit Education for the State of Uttarakhand and the joint Director of Secondary Education, Uttarakhand.
The judging panel for the competition featured Dr Kamla Pant, a former Director of School Education, a celebrated literary figure who has enriched the world of literature while preserving the legacy of Sumitranandan Pant. Additionally, she has made significant contributions to social work and is known for her powerful oratory skills.
Also, Dr Ram Vinay Singh, currently a Professor in the Sanskrit Department at DAV Postgraduate College, Dehradun, is an accomplished author with over ten books in Hindi and Sanskrit. His unique work in Sanskrit Ghazals highlights his literary genius.
And Sadhana Dimri, presently serving as a Lecturer at the State Council of Educational Research and Training, Uttarakhand, has made invaluable contributions to Sanskrit education, including the writing and editing of textbooks. She has also been involved in curriculum development at Patanjali Yogpeeth, Haridwar, and is a member of AIIMS Rishikesh’s IEC.
After a series of impressive recitations, Manav Bharti School emerged victorious, securing the 1st position with their flawless and soulful rendition of the sacred verses. Asian School followed closely, earning the 2nd position, while Kasiga School claimed the 3rd spot. In recognition of their commendable performances, DPS and Tons Bridge were awarded consolation prizes.
The event was a testament to the students’ dedication and understanding of the Bhagavad Gita, with each participant displaying remarkable poise and devotion.
