Dehradun, 12 Sep: The BJP today described the ongoing Kedarnath Pratishtha Yatra of Congress as a reflection of its arrogance. Senior BJP leader and Vice President of 20-point implementation committee, Jyoti Prasad Gairola, asserted that Lord Shiva is self-manifest, and the world is established by His grace and therefore for Congress to claim that that it is taking out a Padyatra to save the reputation and prestige of Baba Kedarnath is nothing but a reflection of sheer arrogance.
Gairola was today interacting with the media persons at the State Party Headquarters here. He asked the Congress to worry about saving its own reputation rather than to think of saving the reputation of Baba Kedar. He also targeted veteran Congress leader and former Chief Minister Harish Rawat by asserting that those whose corruption stains have been seen by the public on TV, have no moral right to accuse others.
Gairola claimed that Congress needs to reduce its arrogance and must realise that it can’t make even the slightest difference in the reputation of Baba Kedar with its yatra. The BJP leader claimed that the Congress Padyatra is being undertaken solely with political motives. This Yatra of Congress party is nothing more than a political sham. The people of the state and Kedar valley are well aware of their intentions, this is the reason why Congress party and its leaders are not going to gain anything from this yatra. Gairola added that Congress needs to make radical changes in their ideology, principles and behaviour.
Responding to a question about the preparations for the Kedarnath byelection, Gairola stressed that BJP takes every election equally seriously. With respect to the Kedarnath byelection, the party cadre has also already started preparing for the byelection. Work has also started on making plans at the block, Shakti Kendra and booth levels and implementing them. Gairola said that BJP is a cadre-based party, that is why the ministers of the government have also been given the responsibility of Mandals as ordinary party workers. In sharp contrast to this, no one in Congress considers themselves a party worker anymore. He claimed that in Congress even the MLAs do not believe in the state president.
The BJP leader claimed that, at present, the performance of the double engine government in the state and the trust of the public in the party indicate that the result of Kedarnath will certainly be delivered by the people in favour of BJP.
In respect of the allegations levelled by Congress regarding the Kedarnath election, Gairola asserted that doing politics of appeasement and anarchy is the basic character of Congress. On the other hand, the BJP Government in the state has taken positive action on UCC, implemented a strict anti-mass conversions law, taken strict action against illegal encroachments and all this was in the party’s manifesto for the assembly elections. He claimed that BJP Government has so many major achievements to its credit including opening of Jan Dhan accounts, Ayushman Yojana, women reservation and implementing of any exam rigging and anti-copying law. Gairola added that Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is at the top in providing record number of jobs and has provided direct jobs to about 20 thousand and indirectly to lakhs of youth. Today, under his leadership, there is a government in the state, which thinks about the youth and also works decisively to ensure their future.
Refuting Harish Rawat’s allegations against cabinet minister Ganesh Joshi, Gairola reminded that corruption cases are still going on against Harish Rawat. And all those cases are such in which the public has seen him on camera dealing in the state. His and Congress’s entire reputation is tainted with corruption charges. Therefore, he has no moral right to defame anyone else by making such baseless allegations.
