Kiran Bedi attends school’s Annual Day

DEHRADUN, 9 Nov: Shemford School celebrated its 7th Annual Day today, in the presence of the Lt. Governor of Puducherry, Dr. Kiran Bedi, who was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. The School’s Kathak Club then presented the Saraswati Vandana. The programme also included a dance drama on Women empowerment and another on the glory of India. The Lt. Governor then gave away the annual awards to over 100 students for excelling at various activities during the year. These included the Best House Trophy won by Shem Red House, Trophy for Sports Excellence to Lavansh Rana, Trophy for Community Service to Sana Thakur, Trophy for Academic Excellence to Devanshu Purohit and Trophy for All round Excellence to Devjyoti Chakrabarti. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Bedi appreciated the effort of the School in providing high quality education to its students and also focusing on their spiritual as well as moral well-being. The programme also saw the School’s Chairman, Vijay Nagar addressing the parents to inform them about his vision of grooming children into personalities that will be a credit to the society and the nation followed by the presentation of the Annual Report by the Principal Bela Sehgal. Over 700 students of the School then presented five dances from different countries of the world, including the German, Mexican, Cossack, Flamenco and Indian Braj dance
