Law College Dehradun celebrates success of alumni in U’khand Judicial Exam



Dehradun, 9 May: Today, a function was organised at Law College Dehradun of Uttaranchal University in honour of Akash Kumar and Mohammad Wasiq, who have passed the Uttarakhand Judicial Service Examination.

Chancellor of the University, Jitendra Joshi felicitated Akash Kumar by presenting him a bouquet and a memento. He said that students from all over the country try their luck in judicial services. Selection of two candidates from Law College Dehradun out of the fifteen selected in Uttarakhand is a special achievement. He wished both the alumni all the best for their bright future.

Dean of Law College and Pro Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Rajesh Bahuguna reported that, till now, 17 alumni of Law College Dehradun have become judges in Uttarakhand, while the total number of judges in fifteen states of the country is 66.

In his address, Akash said that the basic mantra of success in judicial service is patience. “With patience and continuous efforts, I was successful in the third attempt,” he said. “Attending regular classes in Law College Dehradun, the guidance and encouragement of teachers proved to be most beneficial for me. My base was clear in college itself which proved to be a milestone in paving the way for my success.” At present, along with preparation, Akash was also practicing in the District Court, Haridwar, and the Nainital High Court. Mohammad Wasiq is currently posted in Lansdowne as Assistant Prosecution Officer.

Those present on the occasion were College Principal Prof Poonam Rawat, Head Dr Radhey Shyam Jha, Amit Chaudhary, Abhiranjan Dixit, Ujjawal Kumar, Ambar Srivastava, Jagat Narayan, Dr Shikha Uniyal Gairola, Dr Ramakant Tripathi, Dr Bhawna Arora, Hadiya Khan, Sachin Kumar, Dr Manish Bhardwaj and hundreds of students.
