Mussoorie, 10 Nov: Leopards are being seen wandering around residential area in the daytime here. The local people have demanded that the Forest Department take concrete steps to avoid conflict. Some days ago, a leopard had hunted dogs and deer near Oak Grove School, after which the forest department increased patrolling in the area. But, once again, leopards were seen near the school. Forest Inspector Jagjivan said that as soon as the information about a leopard in Jharipani area was received, patrolling was increased and people asked to remain alert. He said that animals could be seen near Oak Grove School as it is just near the forest. He said the leopard in question had only targeted animals and, till today, no human had been harmed. People had been urged to take precautions while going out of the house at night.
