Dehradun, 28 Aug: In yet another feather in the cap for Dehradun and Uttarakhand’s premier Eye Centre, Drishti Eye Institute, a team of Eye Surgeons successfully showcased Live Cataract and Retina surgery. The surgery was beamed live for hundreds of Ophthalmologists attending physically and online at the Kanpur Ophthalmic Society Annual Conference.
Drishti has been the frontrunner in the region for technological advancements in eye care. The team at Drishti has always strived to adopt the latest technology and associate regularly with prestigious Ophthalmic Societies in India and abroad. Consequently, Drishti is looked upon as a centre of excellence in eye care and training.
Dr Gaurav Luthra, Director of Refractive & Cataract Services, and Dr Saurabh Luthra, Director of Vitreo-Retina Services at Drishti, performed surgeries with live commentary and subsequently answered participants’ queries, sharing their rich experience.
While Dr Gaurav Luthra demonstrated a complex micro incision cataract surgery with several new advancements in techniques, Dr Saurabh performed a retina surgical procedure.
The aim of the meeting was to inspire and train budding eye surgeons and to update general ophthalmologists with current surgical techniques.
