Dehradun, 7 Oct: Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj has sought for details of all the resorts, hotels and homestays operating in the state. He also has directed the officials to ensure that all the resorts, homestays and hotels operating illegally without registration be investigated and action taken against them.
He said that it had come to his notice that some unwanted elements were visiting the resorts, hotels and homestays and consuming meat and liquor while sitting on the banks of the rivers. Strict action be taken against such people.
Maharaj has also asked Tourism Secretary Sachin Kurve to take action on resorts, hotels and homestays being built on the banks of rivers against the rules. On the ongoing raids on resorts, hotels and homestays, he said that the police were raiding only those resorts, hotels and homestays which were operating illegally. He said that what happened at Vanantara Resort was a very serious and condemnable and it was required to ensure that there was no recurrence of such incidents in the state.
