International Conference held on Business Data Analytics in Uttaranchal University

Dehradun, 7 Oct: Uttaranchal Institute of Management and Uttaranchal School of Computing Sciences faculties of Uttaranchal University jointly organised the International Conference on Business Data Analytics (ICBDA-2022) in collaboration with Springer. The conference’s inaugural session was attended by eminent personalities from academia and industry including Chancellor Jitendra Joshi, and Dr Onkar Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Uttarakhand Technical University who was the chief guest on this occasion and the Guest of Honour of the event Prof Rameshwar Dubey (Montpellier Business School, England). The Keynote Speaker on the topic was Dr Constantin Blome (Academic Dean, Lancaster University, Germany.
The Conference was inaugurated by Chancellor of Uttaranchal University Jitendra Joshi who lit the ceremonial lamp along with other dignitaries to formally inaugurate the conference today. The welcome Address was delivered by Prof Pradeep Suri, Dean of UIM. Professor Suri informed that more than 105 research papers were submitted including from Liberia, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, the United Kingdom, Vietnam, and India. After many reviews, 25 research papers had been selected from various academic institutions namely Christ University, Chandigarh University, Delhi University, Kurukshetra University, MMU, UPES, etc. The articles would be sent to the publication partner Springer and will be submitted for indexing in Scopus.
In his address Vice Chancellor of Uttaranchal University Prof Dharam Buddhi said that the purpose of this conference was to bring together the diverse community of data scientists, machine-learning engineers, analysts, and other senior data specialists all around the world to exhibit their innovative ideas through their original pieces of work. He informed that Uttaranchal University was bound to become a research-centric university in near future. He called upon the young students participating in the conference to learn about Business Data Analytics and their representation.
The Vice President of Uttaranchal University Prof Satbir Sehgal in his address said that Business Data Analytics would reshape the future. The Chief Guest, Prof Onkar Singh, the Vice-Chancellor, Uttarakhand Technical University, advocated the use of technology for business data analytics while also highlighting the need to address sustainability and privacy concerns.
Dr. Constantin Blome, academic dean at Lancaster University in Germany, used Amazon Go as an example in his speech as the keynote speaker. Additionally, he also discussed how to integrate data analytics, decision analytics, and support systems.
Prof Rameshwar Dubey, the event’s guest of honour from the Montpellier Business School in England, spoke on forecasting strategies and made suggestions for research-based teaching strategies to foster critical thinking in students.
The inaugural session ended with the vote of thanks proposed by Prof. Sonal Sharma, Dean of USCS. Dr Tilotama Singh was the master of ceremonies at the event.
