Dehradun, 6 May: BJP state president Mahendra Bhatt today expressed full support for a population control law in the state. Bhatt was having an informal chat at the BJP State Headquarters here today with media persons. During this interaction with the media, Bhatt said that population control was a significant issue and is now a subject of major discussion in Uttarakhand.
Bhatt insisted that the party will also soon hold consultations with the government on this subject. He asserted that the party considers the law as necessary to prevent any change in demography of the state and for control of population explosion. He said that BJP has been committed to fully preserving the cultural, spiritual and religious identity of Devbhoomi, even before this the country’s strictest anti- mass conversion law was brought. He reminded that the Uniform Civil Code draft is in its final stage while a strict land law will be brought to prevent land jihad in the state.
Bhatt claimed that many of the decisions taken by the Dhami government are being appreciated across the country. He said that cabinet expansion or distribution of Lal Battis will now be discussed after the Bageshwar by-election. At the same time cooperation of MPs and MLAs will also be taken in the programs of the organisation.
Launching a scathing attack on the Congress, he said that the Congress should not only recite Hanuman Chalisa, but adopt it and clarify its position on all religious matters. Bhatt said that Ram and Bajrang Bali can be an election issues for the Congress, but for the BJP, they are a matter of cultural identity and dignity of the country. Mentioning the line of Hanuman Chalisa “Buddhiheen Tanu Janike, Sumiro Pawan-Kumar”, he said that the Congress leaders were proving themselves as without wisdom by reciting these lines and asked the Congress to clarify its position on the issue of Bajrang Bali before the people of Uttarakhand, the people of Karnataka and also before the people of this country as a whole.
Bhatt said that all issues related to the party organisation will be discussed after the Karnataka elections, be it the matter of cabinet expansion, distribution of responsibilities or the Bageshwar by-election. He said, as far as the review is concerned, work review is done every 3 months at the government and organisation level. Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami has recently reviewed the performance of various departments by holding meetings with the ministers, all MLAs and officials and now a review meeting of the organisation will be held soon.
He said that while giving information about the programmes to be organised by all the MPs in collaboration with the party at the booths lost by all the MPs from May 2015 to June 2016, he said that a programme is also being chalked out for better utilisation of the MLAs in the organisation.
