Maya Devi University hosts ‘Fest ZenRaga-2025’

Dehradun, 18 May: Maya Devi University, Selaqui, hosted ‘Fest ZenRaga-2025’ on 17 May with grandeur, uniting students from multiple universities and colleges for a dynamic and colourful cultural extravaganza.

The event commenced with the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, symbolising wisdom and prosperity. The Chief Guest was Prabha Juyal, Chairperson, Maya Devi Educational Society. University President Manohar Lal Juyal extended his blessings to students pursuing spirituality, encouraging them to embrace honesty, dedication, and discipline in their journey ahead. University Vice President Dr Tripti Juyal Semwal also wished the students a bright future. Vice Chancellor Prof (Dr) Ashish Semwal emphasised the importance of preserving India’s cultural heritage and upholding academic excellence at the university. He urged students to engage actively in societal development, fostering national pride and unity.

The festival showcased a rich tapestry of folk songs, dances, and traditional attire celebrating the cultural essence of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and neighbouring countries Nepal and Bhutan. A key highlight of the event was a live performance by renowned Punjabi singer JUSS, whose captivating voice enthralled the audience, inspiring them to dance and sing along.

Singer Shivank Verma also won hearts with his mesmerising performance. The evening concluded with an energetic DJ night. Students enjoyed an electrifying dance session and delicacies from various food stalls.

The grand event witnessed participation from all the society members of Maya Devi Educational Society, key university dignitaries, including Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Sandip Vijay and Deans of all schools. Faculties and all other university staff worked together collaboratively to make the fest a resounding success. Fest ZenRaga 2025 truly reflected the university’s commitment to cultural enrichment, academic excellence, and community engagement.
