Mussoorie, 22 Jul: The Administration, Municipal Council and Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority are making constant efforts to improve the Mall Road, here. Rs 3 crore have been approved from the government level for the beautification of the road.

The process of removing encroachments on the road is underway, as part of which stalls of roadside vendors have been removed. Encroachment done by the shopkeepers is being marked. The SDM, today, met representatives of the Mussoorie Traders’ Welfare Association and Mussoorie Hotel Association, and appealed to them to remove the encroachments on their own. The hotel association has been instructed not to park vehicles by the roadside. There are 6 parking sites on the Mall Road and hotel operators have been instructed to use those services.

After 5 in the evening, due to the complete ban on vehicles on the Mall Road, most of the people use Camel’s Back Road to commute. All the encroachments have been removed from Camel’s Bank Road, but still many hotel operators are parking vehicles there, causing great inconvenience to people. The SDM said a designated place would be identified by the administration for those living along Camel’s Back Road, where only their vehicles would be allowed to park. He said that work on beautification of Mussoorie Mall Road would be resumed from September by the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority. For this, all kinds of encroachments have to be removed.
