Middle School Hindi Debate held at SJA

Dehradun, 17 Nov: St Joseph’s Academy organised a Hindi Debate Competition for the Middle School on Saturday. The programme commenced with Vinimesh Bairagi leading everyone into prayer, invoking God’s blessings. The Chief Guest for the day was Bro Benoi, the Vice Principal of St Joseph’s Academy. The judges for the event were Suman Tiwari, the Senior School Hindi teacher, who is also a writer and poetess and has been awarded by the Sahitya Samiti; and Beena Negi, also the Senior School Hindi teacher who has contributed to writing Guide books.
In the first round, the grade VII students exchanged their views on the topic- ‘Is it necessary to give punishment in order to bring discipline in school?’ Shaurya Suyal and Sifat Kaur Bedi stood first, while Akshat Gupta, Aryaman Bhatia and Anushka Saklani bagged the second position in their respective categories.
In the second round, the eighth graders presented their views on the topic — ‘Social Media has handicapped student life’. Anushree Butola and Aananya Kukreja were adjudged the best speakers, followed by Ravleen Kaur and Saumya Goyal winning the second position.
It was an incredible battle of words where each of the participants proved their points with great vigour and enthusiasm. The young debaters left the audience spellbound with their marvellous oratory skills and witty arguments. The programme culminated with Manvi Manglik singing a mellifluous song, enthralling the audience.
