Mussoorie, 19 Dec: Minister Ganesh Joshi chaired a meeting at the Municipal Council Hall to review preparations for Winter Line Carnival to be held in Mussoorie from 24 to 29 December on Friday. On this occasion, the Minister also released the brochure of the Winter Line Carnival 2025.
During the meeting, Joshi directed that all necessary preparations for the successful organization of Winter Line Carnival be completed on time. He instructed officials to ensure proper cleanliness in toilets during the carnival, make arrangements for mobile toilets, and strengthen basic facilities such as electricity, water supply and parking. He also emphasized the construction of modern toilets in Mussoorie keeping future requirements in view.
The Minister directed the police administration to ensure smooth traffic management on Mall Road during the carnival and to take strict action against vehicles parked unnecessarily. He said that priority should be given to stalls of local products, local artists and women from self-help groups during Winter Line Carnival. He also instructed that stalls featuring local fruits such as kiwi and malta be set up during the food festival.
Emphasizing wide publicity of the carnival, Minister Ganesh Joshi said that the event would promote tourism as well as strengthen the livelihood of local people. He informed that each day of the carnival would be dedicated to great personalities. The carnival will commence on 24 December, marking the birth anniversary of Indramani Badoni, the pioneer of the Uttarakhand statehood movement.
The meeting was attended by Municipal Council Chairperson Meera Saklani, Mohan Petwal, Joint Magistrate Mussoorie Rahul Kumar, Executive Officer Gaurav Bhasin, and other officials.
