Dehradun, 28 Feb: Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi conducted a review meeting at his office in the Vidhan Sabha premises today regarding the proposed road projects in his Mussoorie Assembly Constituency.
The minister stated that the review covered roads under the PWD and PMGSY schemes, some of which have not commenced construction despite their foundation stones being laid. He highlighted that several road projects, including Buranshkanda to Gad Motorway, Chamasari-Luharigarh Motorway, Masrana-Motidhar Link Road, Chamroli-Domkot, and Chamasari-Talyanigad, are pending approval from the Forest Department. Among these, approval for three motorways will be granted within the next 15 days, and officials have been directed to expedite approvals for the remaining roads.
Minister Joshi further mentioned that the approved road for Bhiladu Stadium will receive clearance from the Forest Department within 10 days. He emphasised the need for swift approvals and accelerated construction work for roads passing through forest areas. Additionally, a follow-up review meeting will be held on 5 April 2025 to assess progress.
The minister also instructed officials to widen the Kimadi Motorway and suggested using tiles instead of asphalt in areas where tar-based roads are not feasible, ensuring durability and safety. He stressed the importance of transparency, high-quality construction, and timely completion of all projects. Regular monitoring was also mandated to ensure better infrastructure for the public.
The meeting was attended by PCCF RK Mishra, PWD, HOD, Rajesh Sharma, and other officials.
