Mussoorie, 31 Jan: Local MLA and Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi’s 65th birthday was celebrated with pomp and ceremony, here, today. On this occasion, gatherings at temples, mosques, gurudwaras and churches prayed for his long and healthy life.
Special prayers were performed at the historic Nag Temple under the leadership of Mussoorie BJP President Rakesh Rawat, while at the Radha Krishna Temple, prayers were held under the leadership of former BJP Mandal President Mohan Petwal. Party workers offered special prayers at their respective levels.
Warm clothes and health kits were distributed to the underprivileged during a programme organised by the Mussoorie BJP at Gandhi Chowk. Inaugurating the programme on this occasion, National Vice President of the BJP Yuva Morcha Neha Joshi said that Minister Joshi always celebrates his birthday with the common people. She said that Minister Ganesh Joshi is constantly working to make Mussoorie better from the point of view of tourism. He is also striving for the development of the state.
Former President of Mussoorie BJP, Mohan Petwal, Mussoorie BJP Mandal President Rakesh Rawat and former Municipal President OP Uniyal also praised Joshi’s work. A military shrine is being constructed at the initiative of the cabinet minister, while there are many achievements in the field of agriculture. Changes have been made that are directly benefiting the farmers. To get rid of the constant traffic jams in Mussoorie, a tunnel is being constructed at a cost of about Rs 870 crores, the foundation stone of which would be laid in the month of March. In view of the acute shortage of drinking water in Mussoorie and surrounding areas, work is being done to lay pipelines under the Mussoorie Yamuna Drinking Water Scheme at a cost of Rs 144 crores, which would also be completed soon. Such efforts were why he had become an MLA for three consecutive terms.
