Dehradun, 19 Jul: Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi on Saturday directed the district administration to take strict action against illegal encroachments on government land in the Mussoorie Assembly constituency and ensure coordinated enforcement by the revenue and forest departments.

Chairing a review meeting at his camp office with officials from the district administration, forest and revenue departments, Joshi instructed a joint team to conduct immediate field inspections in areas including Galjwadi, Gajiyawala and Jhadiwala, where cases of alleged encroachment on government land have been reported. He said illegal occupation of public land would not be tolerated under any circumstances and ordered prompt action in accordance with the law.

The minister also raised concerns over waterlogging in Masandawala caused by rainwater flowing from nearby forest areas. He directed officials to carry out a technical survey, prepare a cost estimate and undertake the necessary construction works to ensure proper drainage and prevent flooding of residential areas.

Joshi further instructed officials to maintain regular monitoring to prevent future encroachments on government land. The meeting was attended by District Magistrate Ashish Chauhan, Dehradun DFO Neeraj Sharma, Ranger Shuchi Chauhan, Tehsildar Surendra Singh and other officials from the district administration, forest and revenue departments.
