Dehradun, 19 Jul: Speaking at the valedictory session of the 15th Young Thinkers Meet at Lekhak Gaon, Thano, Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd) said India’s vast youth population will play the defining role in achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and establishing the country as a global leader. He said future conflicts will not be limited to borders but will also be fought through narratives, ideas and information, making it essential for young people to build a strong national narrative based on truth, research and facts.
The Governor urged the youth to develop expertise in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, cybersecurity, semiconductors and the metaverse. He said India’s cultural heritage, combined with modern science and technology, would be its greatest strength in the future. The event, organised by the India Foundation, was attended by former Chief Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, India Foundation President Ram Madhav, academicians, experts and young thinkers from across the country.
