Minister Maharaj distributes relief material to families of disaster affected Village Sukai

Pauri, 13 June: Local MLA and State Cabinet Minister Satpal Maharaj, and his son, BJP Yuva Morcha State Executive Member Suyash Rawat, distributed relief material to the families affected by the disaster that occurred last month in village Sukai, Tehsil Bironkhal of Assembly constituency Chaubattakhal.

Many families were affected by the disaster that occurred on 22 May in village Sukai. At that time, Minister Satpal Maharaj took immediate action and got the PWD and NH roads opened in less than 24 hours. He also sent his son, Suyash Rawat, to the spot and assured all possible help to the affected families. He also provided financial assistance ranging from Rs 2500 to Rs 5000 as immediate help to 30 affected families of Sukai as per the standard norms. Apart from this, he also provided a home grant of Rs 11,500 to Bhagat Singh whose house was hit by the disaster in Kunjoli and Rs 6,000 to Anand Singh.

On Thursday, Maharaj and his son, Suyash Rawat reached Sukai and distributed relief material to the affected families and also instructed the departmental officers to provide all possible help to the affected.

Satpal Maharaj said that there was a demand for drinking water supply to the higher part of the village through a pipe of the pumping irrigation scheme. Work is being done by the department on the banks of the river at the original source of this scheme. He added that 15 schemes including culvert construction, bathing sites, link road, check dam and CC road are in progress for approval.

During the distribution of relief material, many people including BJP Mandal President Ompal, Mahila Morcha President Sandhya Devi, Sukai Pradhan Sandeep Singh Negi, Tehsildar Anand Pal, Development Block Officer Jaipal were present with Satpal Maharaj.
