Minister Rekha Arya inaugurates Mini Stadium, 2 Road Construction Projects in Ranikhet

Ranikhet/Someshwar, 4 Feb: Cabinet Minister Rekha Arya inaugurated the construction of a mini-stadium and two roads in the Ranikhet and Someshwar constituencies today. During the occasion, the Minister emphasised her vision of providing enough sports facilities to ensure that every household in the state produces athletes.

Minister Rekha Arya began her day by extending her best wishes to the local people and youth at the proposed site for the mini stadium at Govt Inter College, Silor Mahadev. She also interacted with the school children and their parents. During her address, she expressed hope that once the mini stadium is completed, it would help identify and nurture athletes from every home in the area. She stated that the state government has already made all the preparations to ensure a bright future for the athletes.

Minister Arya further mentioned that, just as in the past, people from hilly areas demanded the construction of roads, schools, and hospitals, now the youth are demanding stadiums in various locations. This growing awareness of sports will pave the way for making Devbhumi a hub of sports, she added.

The event was attended by Ranikhet District Executive President Deep Bhagat, Kannu Shah, Kumaon Convenor Vimla Rawat, and Mandal President Manish Chaudhary, among others.

Following this, the Cabinet Minister inaugurated the tarring and maintenance work on the Dwarson to Kakdighat motor road (Almiakande to Deholi block) in the Tadi Khet development block of the Almora constituency. The total length of the road is 18.025 km, and the project will cost Rs 403.19 lakhs. Minister Arya also inaugurated the reconstruction and improvement work on the Kakdighat to Shitalakhet motor road (Suniakot Matila block), which is 15.410 km long, with an approved cost of Rs 321.81 lakhs.

During her address, Minister Rekha Arya stated that the construction of these roads would significantly improve facilities in the area. Better roads will enhance connectivity, leading to improved employment opportunities and economic growth.

The event was also attended by Mandal President Bhupal Singh Parihar, MLA Representative Bhuvan Joshi, Mandal General Secretary Balam Singh Karayat, Bishan Singh Kanwal, Janaki Dhoondiyal, Preeti Goswami, Hemant Arya, Ramesh Kandpal, and others.
