MLA Joshi inaugurates “Martyr’s Gate” in memory of Anusuya Prasad

Dehradun, 30 Nov: On the occasion of the 50th death anniversary of Shaheed Anusuya Prasad Gaur of Uttarakhand, who was awarded the Mahavir Chakra for his indomitable courage in the 1971 war, Mussoorie MLA Ganesh Joshi paid homage to the martyr by inaugurating a ‘Shaheed Dwar’ in Bhauwala in his memory. The Martyr’s Gate has been built with financial support from Mata Mangala and Bhole Maharaj, founders of the Hans Foundation.

In his address on the occasion, MLA Joshi said that due to the blessings of Mata Mangala and Bhole Maharaj, he had had the opportunity to build 12 martyr gates, so far. He added that, during the Covid era, an amount of Rs 250 crore was provided by the Hans Foundation to the state government and, till now, more than 21 thousand poor girls have had their weddings paid for by the institution.
He reminded that 2 ambulances had been given by Mata Mangala for the Mussoorie Hospital, which are being used to transport poor people. He said that one could only honour the martyrs, so through installation of martyrs’ gates, they would always be remembered.
Padmendra Singh Bisht, Uttarakhand in-charge of Hans Foundation, said that, soon, three martyrs’ gates would also be constructed in Sahaspur assembly constituency. Colonel – Veteran Nathani from the Sub- Area handed over a check of financial assistance to the martyr’s wife on behalf of the GOC. Army bands also paid tribute to the martyr on the occasion.
Present on this occasion were Sahaspur MLA Sahadev Singh Pundir, Veerangana Chitra Devi, Yashpal Singh, BJP State Spokesperson Naveen Thakur, Mahavir Singh, Girish Joshi, Manwar Rauthan, Rama Thapa, Sandesh Kumar, Anil Prasad, Praveen Chauhan, Vipin Gaur, etc.
