Dehradun, 29 May: Dehradun Cantt MLA Harbans Kapoor initiated the pre-monsoon preparations with the officials of UVJNL and the local residents of Yamuna Colony area in his office, here, today.
MLA Kapoor discussed the problems with the Executive Engineer of UVJNL, Sanjay Tiwari, which arise from the mini Bindal River in the monsoons resulting in overflow and choking of drains. This causes water logging in the residential areas. Kapoor also raised the issue of maintenance of government quarters, their safety and security, and the nuisance created by the street dogs. Other issues faced by the residents were also discussed.
Kapoor also talked to RD Pant, Executive Engineer of the Irrigation Department, and instructed him to undertake better coordination among other departments in order to resolve all the issues. Pant promised to resolve most issues in ten days.
Present on the occasion were Mahavir Singh, JE, Neeraj Upadhya, JE, Sanjay Singhal, Santosh Kothiyal, Ashish Sharma, Ranjeet Semwal and other party workers of the area.
