Dehradun, 21 Nov: Prime Minister Narendra Modi again called up Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today over the phone and sought updates on the relief and rescue operations of the workers trapped in the Silkyara tunnel.
The Chief Minister informed the Prime Minister about the successful construction of a 6-inch diameter pipeline through the debris and the delivery of food and other essential items to the workers. He also informed the PM that he had spoken to the trapped workers today regarding their condition with the help of a flexi-endoscopic camera that had been pushed up to the trapped workers through the newly drilled a 6 inch diametre pipe.
During the conversation, Modi asserted that to evacuate the trapped workers safely was a top priority of his government,
Later, while chairing a review meeting of the PWD Department, the CM directed the top officers of the state to ensure all possible help to the agencies engaged in relief and rescue operations of the workers trapped in the tunnel. He said that constant coordination should be established with the families of the workers and all possible assistance be provided to them. The CM also instructed the officers to continuously coordinate with the district administration Uttarkashi and provide immediate assistance in case of any need. He said that all departments should maintain coordination with the teams engaged in relief and rescue work.
