Haridwar, 19 Sep: The auditorium was fully packed at COER University, where the religious singer and motivational speaker Jaya Kishori was to give a lecture on how to be successful in life. Jaya Kishori, a well-known name in the religious world, who is devoted to Lord Krishna and gives discourses on Srimad Bhagwat Katha, left the audience and students spellbound with her motivating words and enigmatic presence.
The occasion was the 76th birth anniversary of the Founder and Chancellor of COER University, JC Jain.
In her talk on how to be successful for engineering students of COER University, Jaya Kishori said that gaining marks in school or college should not be the goal of students. It should be how to be successful. “Marks do not determine how successful you are but knowledge does. After passing out from college, your knowledge and wisdom gained is going to chart your growth curve and not scores gained in academics.” Jaya also stressed on the need to take ‘sattvic’ food during exams, as it helps a person be more focused and calm. She also goaded the youngsters to make friends wisely. She cited examples from the epic, Mahabharata – that one must have friends like Krishna who raise one in life and not ‘Shakuni’, who lead on to doom. She also sang a couplet from her musical album at the demand of the audience. Naresh Mohan introduced her to the audience with her brief profile.
Popularly known as ‘Kishori Ji’ and ‘Meera of the Modern Era’, Jaya left an everlasting impression on her listeners. JC Jain, Chancellor, COER University, said the tips given by Jaya would help students overcome wrong habits in life and be progressive in their career.
