CM monitors final touches to arrangements for Global Investors’ Summit

DEHRADUN, 7 Dec: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today again took stock of all the arrangements made at the venue for the preparations for the Destination Uttarakhand Global Investors Summit to be held at FRI campus on 8 and 9 December. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the programme on 8 December, while Home Minister Amit Shah will participate in the concluding programme on 9 December.

While reviewing the arrangements for the summit that begins tomorrow, Chief Minister Dhami said that, under the Destination Uttarakhand Global Investors’ Summit, MoUs worth Rs 3 lakh crores have already been signed, while the grounding of agreements worth Rs 44 thousand crores has also been done. He said that the interest shown by investors to work in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand will inject new energy into the state’s progress. The CM said that there are many possibilities to work in the education and pharma sectors in the state, and special focus is being given to these areas. He said that, in the state, first priority is being given to agreements by which people can get maximum employment at the local level.

Dhami said that the work of implementing the agreements signed under the Investors’ Summit is going on at a fast pace. Officials have also been instructed to review it regularly. The Chief Minister added that a large number of big industrialists from the country and abroad would participate in the Investors’ Summit. The focus has been on various sectors like health, wellness, education, medical, tourism, automobile, pharma, and as per the requirement of the state. He said that policies have also been simplified to enable investors with whom agreements have been signed to invest in the state. Also, 27 new policies have been made based on the suggestions of investors.

The Chief Minister said that the state is continuously receiving guidance from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. To make this decade that of Uttarakhand, under his guidance, work is being done rapidly in every field by the state government.

On this occasion, Chief Secretary Dr SS Sandhu, Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, Secretaries Dr R Meenakshi Sundaram, Shailesh Bagoli, Dr BVRC Purushottam, Secretary, Industries, Vinay Shankar Pandey, District Magistrate Sonika, Director General, Industries, Rohit Meena, Director General, Information, Banshidhar Tiwari and officers involved in the preparations for the event were also present.
