MP Nishank pays obeisance at Guru Ram Rai Darbar

Dehradun, 23 Jul: Member of Parliament from Haridwar, Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ paid obeisance at the Guru Ram Rai Darbar Sahib on Sunday. He also had a formal meeting with Mahant Devendra Das. Dr Nishank gifted the Mahant a set of books written by him. He requested the Mahant to make his books available to the Shri Guru Ram Rai University.

The MP praised the welfare works done by the institutions of Shri Guru Ram Rai Group. He, in particular, appreciated the quality healthcare services provided by Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital. Earlier, Dr Nishank was welcomed as per the tradition of Shri Darbar Sahib. The Mahant gifted a memento of Shri Darbar Sahib to Dr Nishank.

Both had a detailed discussion on the development projects of Uttarakhand, relief and Rescue operations in various parts of Uttarakhand following heavy rainfall, and other current issues of the state.

Dr Nishank informed the Mahant that a ‘Lekhak Village’ is being developed at Thano. Authors, poets and historians who have contributed to Hindi literature and society, but are unknown due to some reasons, would be provided a platform to showcase their work. Dr Nishank also invited the Mahant to visit the Village. He also assured that the Government would always provide assistance to the welfare works done by SGRR.

He expressed optimism that SGRR Mission will continue its noble mission of various social service and welfare activities for society.
