MUSSOORIE, 3 Dec: A felicitation ceremony for newly elected office-bearers and a freshers’ party was held at the MPG College, here, today. A colourful cultural programme was also organised. Chief Guest and Mussoorie MLA Ganesh Joshi inaugurated the programme by lighting the ceremonial lamp. A Garhwali Dance pleased the audience. Songs sung by Manoj Sagar Jaunsari had the audience mesmerised. MPG College Student Union President Ravindra Rawat and Secretary Kapil Singh presented a letter of demands to MLA Ganesh Joshi. They wanted an increase in the number of teachers in the College, construction of parking, introduction of employment based subjects, etc. Joshi said the students should have pride in being humble, obedient and disciplined. This was the right age to develop a full-fledged personality. They needed to be consistent in studies and also well behaved. He assured all possible help for development of the college. He promised to talk to Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat on introduction of a hotel management course at MPG College, so that the migration of students from Mussoorie and nearby areas could be stopped. Former MLA Jot Singh Gunsola and former Municipal Chairman Manmohan Singh Mall said that students should work hard to build their future by adopting a disciplined approach. They also advised students to avoid partisan politics. Principal SP Joshi wished students the best for their future. The programme was jointly conducted by Rahul Dimri and Anil Singh. Present on the occasion were former student union president Ashish Joshi, Rajesh Nautiyal, Nandlal, Sarita, Aarti Aggarwal, Geeta Kumai, Jasbeer Kaur, Darshan Rawat, Pankaj Khatri, Jasoda Sharma, Sarita Panwar, Kuldeep Rauchela, Pratap Singh Panwar, Ashish Khotari, Sapna Sharma, Pankaj Semwal, Ramesh Bhandari, Ajay Dutt Bahuguna, DP Panwar, Anil Godiyal and many others.
