Mussoorie celebrates 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak

Mussoorie, 12 Nov: The 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev was celebrated with great fervour, here, today. On this occasion, special programmes were organised in the gurudwaras along with Guru’s langar. In the evening, Prakash Parv ended with fireworks and a poet’s court. The gurus’ words were chanted and langar was organised in the gurdwaras. Historian Gopal Bhardwaj gifted an old depiction of Guru Nanak dating 1774 to MPS Khurana, President of the Landour Gurdwara Singh Sabha.
After the Ardas at the Gurdwara under the auspices of the Guru Singh Sabha, Gandhi Chowk, Kirtan was organised in which a large number of Sikh families as well as other people participated, while pledging to follow the path of Guru Nanak Dev.
On the occasion, Guru Singh Sabha President MPS Khurana and member Jasbir Kaur said that Guru Nanak respected all religions and worked to unify society in one garland. Khurana said that the 550th birth anniversary is being celebrated with great pomp in the world, including America, Canada, England and Pakistan. Present on this occasion were Municipal Chairman Anuj Gupta, Darshan Rawat, Pratap Panwar, Jasoda Sharma, former municipal chairman OP Uniyal, Mussoorie Trade Union President Rajat Aggarwal, General Secretary Jagjit Kukreja, Sapna Sharma, Avtar Kukreja, Trilochand Singh, Paramjeet Kohli, Narendra Singh, Tanmeet Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Mahendra Singh, Narendra Singh Chadha, Gurucharan Chadha, GS Manchanda, Gurudeep Singh Chawla, Balbir Singh, Ravindra Singh and many others.
