Dehradun, 23 Sep: As the outbreak of dengue prevails more in Dehradun, the Dehradun Municipal Corporation (Doon Nagar Nigam) is also claiming to step up its action to prevent the spread of Dengue. This campaign against dengue is led by the Municipal Commissioner Manuj Goyal himself. The Municipal Corporation teams are continuously running a special inspection campaign in houses, commercial establishments and buildings under construction. If dengue larvae are found, disciplinary action is being taken along with destroying the larvae, claims the Nagar Nigam administration. During inspection being carried out since past several days, it has been found that many schools/colleges and hospitals have been negligent due to which dengue larvae were found thriving there.
In the same sequence, today the Municipal Commissioner directed the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Dehradun to direct all the hospitals (government/private) of the city and the Chief Education Officer to direct all the government/private schools of the city in their respective campuses to maintain cleanliness and not allow sources of growth of dengue larvae to accumulate.
The Municipal Corporation teams inspected the sources of dengue (larvae) in many hospitals, buildings and newly constructed under construction buildings, commercial establishments and houses in the city to check for dengue. Wherever the larvae has been found, disciplinary action has been taken by the Nagar Nigam by levying penalty on the owners and also the Nigam has been destroying the larvae.
In addition, intensive fogging was carried out in a total of 15 wards today, including Ward No 99 Nakronda, Ward No 100 Nathuwala, Ward No 25 Indresh Nagar, Ward No 44 Patel Nagar West, Ward No 71 Saharanpur Road, Ward No33 Yamuna Colony, Ward No66 Raipur, Ward No13 DL Road, Ward No15 Karanpur, Ward No14 Rispana, Ward No 80 Rest Camp, Ward No 69 Ritahmandi, Ward No70 Lakhibagh, Ward No 97 Harrawala, and Fogging was done in Ward No3 Rajhanwala.
In addition, spraying of dengue larvicidal chemicals was also carried out in Ward No 9 Aryanagar, Ward No. 50 Rajiv Nagar, Ward 15 Karanpur, Ward 21 MKP, Ward No 80 Rest Camp, Ward No 18 Indira Nagar, Ward No 69 Reetha Mandi, Ward No and wards number 47 Chander Road and Ward No 13 DL Road.
