Dehradun, 15 Apr: With a commitment to the timely implementation of the historic Nari Shakti Vandan Act, aimed at ensuring respect, empowerment, and participation of women, Haridwar MP and former Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat departed from Dehradun for Delhi to participate in the special sitting of Parliament’s budget session beginning 16 April.

Before his departure, he sought the blessings of “Matrishakti” (women).

On this occasion, Trivendra Singh Rawat said that the blessings of women provide renewed energy and unwavering strength to his resolve. He emphasised that respect for women and their participation is not just a social necessity but an essential condition for building a developed India.

He stated that, under the visionary and decisive leadership of PM Narendra Modi, the Nari Shakti Vandan Act was passed in 2023, adding a historic chapter to India’s democratic system. The Act ensures 33% reservation for women in Parliament and State Legislative Assemblies, paving the way for their effective participation in policymaking.

He further noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has, through the guiding principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas”, taken several concrete steps to bring women into the mainstream of development. The Nari Shakti Vandan Act is an extension of this vision, positioning women not merely as beneficiaries but as decisive forces in nation-building.

Trivendra Singh Rawat added that the Act stands as a strong symbol of respect, trust, and equal opportunity for the country’s women. It will enhance women’s participation in legislative bodies, making the decision-making process more inclusive, sensitive, and effective.

He expressed confidence that this historic initiative will provide new direction, identity, and opportunities to half of India’s population, playing a crucial role in achieving the vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047”.
